Cinnamon Dolce Latte Cupcakes


*To brown butter: melt butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Stir constantly as it continues to cook and foam. After a few minutes, it will begin to turn a rich brown and smell nutty. Remove from heat immediately and let cool before using in cupcake recipe.


for the cupcakes:

2 cups flour
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
2 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 cup browned butter, cooled*
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
3 eggs
2 tsp vanilla
1/4 cup milk
1/4 cup brewed coffee, cooled
for the frosting:

5 tbsp flour
1 cup milk
2 tsp vanilla
1/2 cup butter, softened
1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
a tsp or two of cinnamon, for dusting
