Ingredients: 

3 to 4 lb flank steak or beef tip roast, cut into small pieces
¼ cup cornstarch
1 medium onion, sliced thinly
1 large carrots, sliced thinly
1 tsp ginger, minced
5 cloves garlic, minced
½ cup soy sauce
1 cup water
¼ cup cooking sherry
½ cup brown sugar
black pepper to taste
