cut a half of medium size cabbage into bite size pieces and sprinkle generously with salt. Let it sit for two or three hours.
Put it into a glass jar and fill with water. Add three to four cloves of crushed garlic, two green onion cut into two-inch length, and a spoonful of red pepper flakes.
Taste, you can add more salt at this point. Brine should taste salty like ocean water. Cover and leave it for a day or two depending on the weather.
When you like the taste of it, keep it refrigerated. It does not have strong smell and very refreshing.
