For the waffles:
1-1/2 cups mashed, overripe bananas (about 2 small bananas)
1 cup buttermilk
1/3 cup grape seed oil
3 tablespoons granulated sugar
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
1-1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon sea salt
3 large eggs
*1-1/3 cup all-purpose gluten-free flour (I like Bob's Red Mill and Trader Joe's also a great one.)
1/3 cup almond meal
1 tablespoon, plus 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon xanthan gum
For the almonds:
1 tablespoon unsalted butter, melted
1 tablespoon honey
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Pinch of sea salt
1/3 cup sliced almonds
