Harriet C's Pineapple Date Nut Bread

Ingredients: 

1 13 oz undrained crushed pineapple
1 pkg 8 oz chopped dates
1/4 C oleo or butter
2 1/4 C flur
2 t B power
1/2 5 soda
1/2 t salt
1 egg
1/4 C sugar
1 C finely chopped nuts


  1. Bring pineapple and juice to boil
  2. Add dates and butter
  3. Cool
  4. Sift together flour, power, soda and salt
  5. Beat eggs and sugar
  6. Stir in date mixture
  7. Add flour then nuts and mix well
  8. Pour in greased 9x5x3 loaf pan
  9. Bake at 350* for 55 minutes
  10. Cool for 15 minutes and serve
