Italian Dressing & Mix

Notes:

This is a two part recipe. First is mixing the dry ingredients, which can be stored well ahead of time and used when you need to make a quick batch by adding the wet ingredients. Also can be made as a gift and placed in a fancy glass jar. A triple batch can be mixed in a 32 oz jar. We use a stick blender for best results.

Ingredients:

DRY MIX:
1 tablespoon onion powder
1 tablespoon garlic powder or use garlic salt and eliminate the salt listed below.
1 tablespoon sugar
2 tablespoons dried oregano
1 tablespoon dried parsley
1 tablespoon salt
1 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon dried basil
1/2 teaspoon celery salt
WET INGREDIENTS:
2 tablespoons of the dry mix
1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
2 tablespoons dijon mustard
3/4 cup vegetable oil
2 tablespoons water

  1. Mix dry ingredients and store in an air tight container for future use.
  2. Mix dry ingredients with wet shake well and let sit to marry the flavors for at least an hour. Better yet mix with an immersion blender and you get a completely different dressing!
  3. Mix a double batch for a 24 oz bottle. Or a triple batch for a 32 oz bottle.
  4. Great to use as a maranade for chicken or steak!
