Lemon Lime Pound Cake

Ingredients: 

1 1/2 c butter softened
3 c sugar
5 eggs
2 tbsp lemon zest
1 tsp vanilla
1 tsp lemon extract
3 c flour
1 c 7-up
Shortening

Lemon Lime glaze
2 c 10x sugar
2 tsp lemon zest
1 1/2 tbsp lemon juice
1 tbsp lime juice

Candied Lemons
2 lemons cut to 1/8" slices
4 c sugar


350 oven
Beat butter until creamy
Grad add sug
Beat 3-5 mins til fluffy
Add 1 egg at a time
Stir in lemon and extracts
Add flour with soda
Beat at low speed until blended
Pour into greased and floured bundt pan
Bake 1 hr and 15 mins shielding w foil after 45 mins

Candied lemons
In heavy saucepan stir 4 c water w/ 2 c sugar stirring until disolved
Add lemons and reduce heat to low
Simmer 45 mins until rinds are soft and lemons are clear
Place on wire rack and cool completely
