Maple Peanut Butter Squares

This recipe was on the side of the cereal box Costco (kirkland brand ?Maple Nut Whole Grain Cereal
I actually found the maple flavor in the cereal a bit too much so stated lookling for recipes that maybe I could make with it and noticed the one on the side of the box.

Ingredients: 

500 ml( 2 cups) Kirkland signature maple nut cereal
250 ml (1 cup ) oats ( oatmeal )
125 ml (1/2 cup almonds,) slivered
125 ml (1/2 cup pecans chopped (1/4 cup almonds/pecans)
1 ml (1/4 tsp ground cinnamon)
1ml (1/4 tsp salt)
60 ml (4tbsp ) salted butter (unsalted)
60 ml (1/4 cup + 125 ml (1/2 cup honey)
85 g (1/3 cup ) sugar
125ml (1/2 cup) creamy peanut butter
250 ml (1 cup ) golden raisins


  1. Preheat oven to 175*c (350*F) lightly grease  (8x8)baking dish
  2. In a large mixing bowl,blend cereal,oats,almonds,pecans,cinnamon,salt
  3. In a small saucepan over low heat,stir together butter with 60 ml (1/4 cup) honey
  4. Add melted butter and honey mixture to large mixing bowl with cereal blend, stir until well mixed
  5. Spread cereal mixture over large baking sheet/bake for about 15 minutes
  6. In a seperate large saucepan over medium heat,combine sugar,honey and peanut butter. Stir constantly until sugar is dissolved, then remove from heat.
  7. Add baked cereal,peanut butter mixture ( created in step 6) and raisins to large saucepan blend unti cereal is well coated.
  8. Pour mixture into a lightly greased pan and press down firmly /evenly. Allow to cool and then cut into 1x1 inch bars.
