2 tbsp mirin - japanese sweet rice wine
2 tbsp sake - japanese cooking rice wine
2 tbsp water
1/2 tsp brown sugar (to taste)
Optional: 1 tsp corn flour as thickener
Teriyaki sauce is good served with any kind of meat or seafood. The sauce can also be cooked with the meat or served separately.
Mix all ingredients (except corn flour) and bring to boil under low heat, keep stirring.
If you wish to thicken the sauce you may add corn flour which has been liquified with 2 tbsp of luke warm water. Keep stirring in low heat until sauce thickens to your liking.
