* I halved the recipe for the frosting and had plenty

* I couldn't find the candy cane bits, so I just crushed up a few candy canes

Ingredients:

Frosted Peppermint Sugar Cookies

1 1/3 cup of all-purpose flour
3/4 teaspoon of baking powder
1/4 teaspoon of kosher salt
1/2 cup (1 stick) of softened butter
1 cup of granulated sugar
1 egg
2 teaspoons of vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon of peppermint extract
Peppermint Frosting

1 cup (2 sticks) of softened butter
3 cups of powdered sugar
1 teaspoon of peppermint extract
1 teaspoon of pure vanilla extract
pinch of kosher salt
2-3 tablespoons of milk
red food coloring
