Perfected Chocolate Chip Cookies

Ingredients: 

2 sticks + 2 tablespoons of softened no salt butter
1 cup sugar
1 cup dark brown sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla (the real stuff)
3 1/2 cups all purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
1 12oz bag semi sweet or milk (we prefer ghirardelli semi sweet)
1 cup chopped nuts (walnuts or pecans)-optional


  1. We use a professional Kitchen Aid Mixer
  2. Cream butter, sugar and add 1 egg at a time and then the other
  3. Add vanilla
  4. Mix flour baking soda and salt together and thouroughly mix tougether
  5. Add flour/baking soda/salt mixture a little at a time, until all is mixed together
  6. Add chocolate chips and mix a littel bit more, to avoid breaking teh chips up.
  7. Wrap in plastic wrap and chill for at least two hours
  8. Form into 1-1 1/2" disk (about 1/2" thick) and bake in a pre-heated oven at 375 of 8-10 minutes
  9. Sometimes we bake monster cookies by forming 3" disk, 1/2 thick
