Pineapple and pecan cake

Ingredients: 

1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
2 cups all purpose flour
1/2 tsp salt
2 large eggs
1 tsp baking soda
1 (20 oz.) can crushed pineapple in its own juice ( including juice)
1 cup dark brown sugar
1 cup chopped pecans
1 cup evaporated milk
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 stick (1/2 cup Butter)
1 tsp vanilla
