Pineapple Upside-Down Cake

This recipe has been shortened a lot! When Grandma Frances used to make this she made the white cake from scratch and cooked it in a cast iron skillet!

Ingredients: 

3 tbsp butter
¾ cup brown sugar, firmly packed
6 slices pineapple or 1 can (20 ounces) of drained pineapple chunks
1 box white cake mix


In a 9-inch square cake pan, melt butter; sprinkle with brown sugar. Arrange pineapple on sugar. Mix cake as directed on box. Sprinkle cake mix on top of pineapple mixture. Bake @ 375 degrees for about 35 minutes. Let cool for about 5 minutes before turning out onto a serving plate.
