Pizza

Ingredients: 

For dough:
• ¾ cup warm water
• 1 tsp sugar
• 1 Tbsp oil
• 1 package dry yeast
• ½ tsp salt
• 2 cups flour (plus additional flour for kneading)
For pizza sauce:
• 8 oz tomato sauce
• 1 tsp oregano
• ¼ tsp salt
• 2 tsp garlic powder
• Dash of pepper
For toppings:
• Mozzarella cheese (as needed)
• Toppings


Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 375° F. 
  2. Measure flour into a large bowl. Set aside. 
  3. In a liquid measuring cup, measure warm water. 
  4. Add sugar, oil, yeast, and 1 tsp salt to water. Stir until yeast dissolves. 
  5. Add liquid mixture to the flour, stirring with a wooden spoon until soft dough is formed.
  6. Knead dough in bowl or on a floured counter, adding flour until dough is no longer sticky – 10 to 50 times. 
  7. Lightly grease a 12” pizza pan. 
  8. Roll or press out dough to fit pizza pan. 
  9. Make sauce by combining tomato sauce, oregano, ¼ tsp salt, garlic powder, and black pepper in a small bowl. 
  10. Prepare toppings as needed (usually thin slices). 
  11. Top pizza dough with sauce and toppings. 
  12. Let stand for 10 min (optional).
  13. Bake in oven for 20 min until crust is done on bottom and cheese is melted.
