Potato Gratin Dauphinoise

2 lbs large potatoes with skin
1 cup 1% milk
1.5 c gruyere cheese
1/2 tsp nutmeg

  1. Preheat oven to 375
  2. Cut the potatos into approximately 1/8" slices in the bottom of a baking dish and sprinkle pepper and half the cheese on top.
  3. Make another layer with the remaining potatoes and cheese.
  4. Pour the milk over the top and sprinkle nutmeg over that.
  5. Bake for 1 hour or until top is golden brown
