Turkey Pesto Meatballs and Marinara

Ingredients: 

For meatballs:

1 lb. ground turkey (not ground turkey breast)
1/2 cup prepared basil pesto (homemade or store bought)
1/2 cup panko bread crumbs
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Kosher salt and freshly cracked black pepper

For marinara:

1 (28 ounce) can crushed tomatoes
2 Tablespoons tomato paste
1 medium yellow onion, chopped
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes

1/2 teaspoon sugar
1 lb. cooked pasta
1/4 cup chopped fresh basil or parsley, for garnish
