1 beef tenderloin (2-2 1/2 lbs)
black pepper (optional)
1 egg
1 T water
1 T butter
2 c finely chopped mushrooms
1 medium onion, finely chopped (about 1/2 c)
flour
1/2 of a 17.3 oz pkg puff pastry sheets (1 sheet), thawed
