Berry Tart

Notes:

- Original recipe calls for 1/4 cup mint or basil boiled in simple syrup; I didn't like it
- We used the pizza stone, ungreased and it came out great
- Use pre-whipped cream if don't have an electric beater on hand
- We used strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, blackberries; all mixed together so you don't have one piece of all blueberry etc
- In future, try other fruits, or a s'more version with Nutella?

Dough:
-Nonstick cooking spray
-1 8-ounce refrigerated crescent dough

Syrup & Fruit:
-1/2 cup honey
-1/3 cup water
-6 cups red and blue berries

Cheese mixture:
-2/3 cup mascarpone cheese
-3/4 cup whipping cream
-2 tablespoons honey

  1. Preheat oven to 375. Line 13x9 pan with foil and lightly grease foil. Roll out dough into pan, bake 12-15 min.
  2. In saucepan, bring honey and water to a boil; simmer, uncovered, for 5 min. Let cool. Toss berries in syrup.
  3. In a bowl, beat whipping cream into soft peaks. Add cheese and honey and beat.
  4. Spread fruit on top, drizzle with extra syrup if desired. Refrigerate 2-4 hours; best if served and eaten same day.
