Desserts: Rhubarb Upside Down Cake/

Ingredients: 

3/4 lb rubarb, trimmed and cut into 1 1/2 pieces
1 1/2 C sugar
4 T unsalted butter + 6 T cut into 1/2" cubes, chilled
1 T fresh lemon juice
2 tsp vanilla
1/2 tsp salt
2 1/2 C flour
2 tsp baking powder
1/2 C shortening
1/3 C milk
2 eggs
Vanilla ice cream or whipped cream, for serving
