Some of these ingredients aren't technically Korean, but there is method to my madness and you will see why. I tried to really go extreme with how savoury this is, and it work out perfectly as one of my favourite recipes on the site. The cumin and smoked paprika are not pronounced at all, but give it a dark deep flavour that is reminiscent of meat.
1 block tofu
2 shallots
2 teaspoons miso
1 teaspoon smoked paprika
1 tablespoon soy sauce
2 tablespoons rice wine
2 teaspoons black vinegar
1 teaspoon cumin
Oil for shallow frying
