French Pot Roast

Ingredients: 

2 strips bacon, cut into 1/2" pieces
1/4 cup flour
salt and black pepper to taste
2 lb chuck roast, excess fat removed, cut into 1" pieces
1/2 bottle dry red wine
2 cups low-sodium beef broth
2 tbsp tomato paste
2 bay leaves
2 cups frozen pearl onions
1/2 lb button mushrooms, stems removed
1 cup frozen peas
