2 pounds plums, pitted and quartered
16 ounces frozen mixed fruit (see note above)
2 stalks rhubarb, diced (about 1 cup)
1 1/2 cups sugar
1 cinnamon stick
1/2 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
3 tablespoons cornstarch
