Slow-Cooker Stuffed Peppers

Ingredients: 

4 red, yellow, or orange bell peppers
1 1/2 cups low-sodium chicken broth
3/4 cup Arborio rice
8 ounces hot Italian sausage, casings removed
2 onions, chopped fine
6 garlic cloves, minced
1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  Salt and pepper
1/8 teaspoon red pepper flakes
1 (28-ounce) can crushed tomatoes
2 1/2 ounces Parmesan cheese, grated (1 1/4 cups)
2 tablespoons chopped fresh basil
