Wafu Hambagu (Japanese Hamburger Steak)

1/2 large onion
1 ½ Tbsp. olive oil
¼ cup panko
2 Tbsp. milk
½ lb (226 g) ground beef
½ lb (226 g) ground pork
1 egg
1 clove garlic, crushed or minced
¼ tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. kosher salt
Freshly ground black pepper
1 ½ Tbsp. vegetable oil
3 inch (5 cm) daikon*
2 Shiso leaves (or more), or scallion/green onion for garnish
½ cup ponzu
1 tsp. sugar
¼ tsp. yuzu kosho (optional to make it spicy)
