Almond Butter / Peanut Butter

Ingredients: 

ALMOND BUTTER
1 pound whole almonds
1 teaspoon sea salt

PEANUT BUTTER
1 pound of peanuts
1 tablespoon peanut oil/veg/canola
1 teaspoon sea salt
1 tablespoon honey (optional)


  1. Heat oven to about 200 degrees and warm the almonds/peanuts for about 15 minutes.
  2. pour them into a food processor with the chopper blad on.
  3. Mix away about 15 minutes total time. Stopping occassionally to scrape down the sides of the bowl. The longer you mix the smoother the butter.
  4. As you get to a butter consistancy add 1 teaspoon of sea salt and do a final mix.
  5. you can also add a teaspoon of honey or pure maple syrup for additional flavoring.
  6. Store in airtight jar in the refigerator for up to six weeks.
