Ginger Pepper Cookies

The black pepper transforms these cookies into an adult taste.

Ingredients: 

1 1/2 Cup all purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 cup butter at room temp
3/4 cup packed light brown sugar
1 egg
1 Tablespoon freshly grated ginger
1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper


  1. Heat oven to 400 degrees.
  2. Combine flour and baking powder in bowl and set aside.
  3. Cream butter and sugar.
  4. Add egg and beat until smooth.
  5. With mixer on low, add ginger and pepper, then add flour 1/2 cup at a time, just until blended.
  6. Have 2 ungreased cookie sheets ready. Roll 1 T of dough into a ball, place on sheet, flatten slightly (2" apart).
  7. Backe 12-14 minutes until firm and lightly browned.
  8. Cool on wire racks.
