Made this in the crock pot today. Needed more of a base flavor. Would probably add something like Worcestershire or even A1 to help enhance the flavor. WAS really fatty, but then it's short ribs, almost 12 oz of fat poured off the sauce. Not sure if I would make again or not. The short ribs were expensive....so if I can find them on sale perhaps.
Very dry. Good flavour. Was using a new crock pot so that may have something to do with it but it was VERY DRY and very dark from the soy sauce - looked NOTHING like the pictures. Will try again, perhaps use thighs or something and tone down the soy sauce. Was a bit disappointed.
